What's the biggest challenge you are facing right now in your Real Estate business?
It's a tough market right now, this thread is to encourage those who might be going through a rough time in their business. Tell me your story! What's your biggest challenge in the business and how did you overcome it?
The biggest challenge is that I’m not in Charleston right now—such a great town! But the biggest challenge in business? Staying focused. In a tough market, it's easy to get distracted by all the shiny opportunities that come up.
For example, to really focus on growing our real estate agent business, we made the difficult decision to stop buying investment properties this year. As hard as it was, I've seen the payoff after 9 months of staying committed—our business is growing, and our clients are receiving even better service.

We invest in defaulted mortgages. For us the biggest challenge has been the pricing of product. Similar to real estate, pricing has been on the high side so its finding ways to be creative and finding distressed sellers who are cash poor that need to get rid of product. Thankfully we have been able to find that but it takes ALOT more work and effort. It is a lot harder for everyone today to find deals, which for those investors with grit it is a good thing as it separates the haves from the have nots.
