Hi!

I am new in the real estate industry and want to see if you have any tips for a new agent, also any events or recommendation to start meeting people and getting more connected to the Real Estate world. Thank you

Depending on what your target audience is, real estate investor meet ups are a great way to meet people and talk real estate!  Social media can be a powerful tool, and then good old-fashioned door knocking for listings is a great way to drum up business as well!  Looks like some good opportunities coming for investors in the Miami condo market.

     Hello Camilo!

Welcome to the BiggerPockets forum and to the Real Estate industry!

    I agree with 100% with @Clayton Silva

A general tip: Spend time on income producing activities and ignore most of the rest.

Income producing activities can be summed up by 2 things:

    1. Talk to people. i.e.: doorknocking, cold calling, speaking with online leads, contacting people within your sphere of influence, engaging with people on social media (not just posting), meeting people at networking events, etc.
    2. Follow up with people. Systematically follow up via phone, text, email, social media engagement, in-person, etc. There is no wrong way to do this unless you aren't doing it at all OR you're harrassing people

If you find yourself attending a bunch of educational webinars, watching too many tutorial/training videos, or anything other than those 2 things, take some time to stop and reflect.

There are 100s of distractions thrown at new agents so before you spend time on an activity, ask yourself if it fits into the 'income producing' bucket. If not, schedule that activity for some time later in the day/week after you've taken care of the income-producing activities that will help you grow your business.

Lastly, I'd recommend reading some of the David Greene books for real estate agents in the BP bookstore as well as Hyper local Hyper fast agent by Dan Lesniak.

    All the best!

    Abel
