Buyers Agents Fees - Perth, Australia

Jon Butler
Posted

Hello guys!

Hope all is well.

I'm an aspiring real estate investor with a solid 6 months of self-education (thank you BP!), a relatively clear strategy (BRRRR) and I'm almost ready to start buying (we are currently running through the pre-approval process).

I am now in the middle of J Scott's TBOFH and he recommends a buyers agent to get going. Here in Perth, Australia though the buyer actually pays the Buyers Agents commission which is 1-2% of the sale price.

As a first-time buyer would this have made you guys probably shy away from using a buyers agent if you had to pay them? A good deal is a good deal isn't i suppose wherever it comes from, and this would seemingly get the ball rolling more quickly than approaching listing agents instead?

I have framed it in my head as a slightly more expensive than usual Wholesaler.

Here in Australia we also have stamp duty the buyer pays which is typically 3-4% of the sale price.

Anyhoo guys, keen to hear your thoughts!

Thanks in advance

Jon
