Getting RE License (19 y.o.) Any tips on finding mentors?

Posted

Hi everyone, my name is Mario and I am in the process of getting my California real estate license. I am planning on literally going to every brokerage I can think of near me, So-cal area, and trying to weasel my way into a spot whether it is a unpaid job at the start and working into an agent position from there. Does anyone have tips on finding a good local mentor that can guide me and push me to the limits. Thank you in advance. Hope this question makes sense, bit of a ramble.

@Mario Morales Safah

Get your license, join a brokerage, then join a team at that brokerage. Your team leader will mentor you and you can use your team as leverage to learn and earn.

When you interview brokerages, one question to ask is about their training program for new agents. My brokerage wanted to pair me with someone close to my background. I’m active duty military and my mentor was a prior service member.

I doubt you’ll need to weasel your way into a brokerage. There’s often a high turnover rate for real estate agents and they’ll be looking for you to join.

Find one that best fits your needs now. You can always switch later if you need something different.

I wish you all the best.

@Mario Morales Safah - whatever brokerage you decide on, stay active within the brokerage; agents can have multiple mentors for multiple reasons but the more people you meet, the more likely you are to be inspired by someone.

 Hey Mario,

I would recommend you to contact @David Greene team if you are in So-Cal. I am pretty confident that you can find what you are looking for there.
