ok so I passed my test on the 30th and thought the hard part was over! I've been having a real hard time getting things set up and running, and finding/making a website that's not like every other realtors is driving me up the wall.

I was told to get one from this site http://www.proagentwebsites.com/ but I hate how busy and generic everything is. And I'm not paying $60 a month for something I hate!

Can anyone please give me some advice? I was think of setting things up myself with a Wordpress platform (I'm not tetchy, but I can figure it out) but I have no clue how idx and all that stuff works. :(

Thanks guys!

My advice?

Quit wasting time on setting up a website and go out and make some money.

Seriously, the website is not the place to start. Start with your SOI (sphere of influence). Send a nice professional looking introduction letter to everyone that you know telling them that you are now a Realtor and would appreciate any and all business and referrals. Send a similar letter or postcard to your neighborhood.

Websites are worthless anyway if you don't have a means to drive business to them. Start working on getting some listings. Once you have some listings to advertise/market you will then have a means to drive traffic to your website.

In a nut-shell, I wouldn't worry about the website right out of the gate. Get out meeting and talking with people who are looking to buy or sell and start making some money.
