Starting Property Management Company in Columbus

Hello BP, my profession is public accounting (CPA) and I love the opportunities that real estate brings. My current portfolio is a duplex next to Nationwide Children's and one SFR in Hilliard. I have Dayton investors/referrals from my CPA connections looking to buy a few A+ properties next year and use me to manage their properties for them.

My Question relates to Ohio law requiring PM companies to either be a RE Agent or be "working under the supervision of a broker and whose compensation for service is primarily on a salaried or hourly basis". Which one should I do to meet this requirement? RE agent or be under a broker (whatever that means).

Has anyone done this in the past or can point me in the right direction? I don't mind getting a RE license, but if it isn't much of a hassle (and cheaper) to be under the supervision of a broker I would rather do that.

Thank you in advance for your response and I look forward to connecting with some investors in the Cbus area soon!

@Remington Lyman Thank you for the info!  Sounds like I will have to bite the bullet and go ahead with getting a RE license.
