[ILLINOIS] Becoming a broker
Hi all,
I am new to this forum so really looking forward to learn more from everyone here and discuss all things real estate.
Recently I have been thinking about becoming a licensed real estate broker with the ultimate goal to become a real estate investor. I know it's not a must but I think with the all the benefits that go along + option to become a good side hustle, it will be worth the investments (75 hours of studying + passing the exam + fees).
My question is, is it hard to find a broker that will sponsor my license + allow me to work part time in Chicago-IL? I work in tech and new to this industry so any help/lead/recommendation is greatly appreciated! Thank you all!

@Ngoc Hoang congrats on pursuing your license! Your realtor license training will have almost nothing that will help you as a real estate investor but being a successful broker can help you as an investor due to the amount of great people you get to meet in the business.
I started with a 100% commission shop here in Chicago, and I was really happy there when I had a full-time job back in the day. It allowed me to do some sales and ramp up slowly while I was buying real estate as well. I eventually transitioned to a more investor friendly brokerage, but in the beginning that 100% shop was great. I always recommend folks in your shoes consider a place that allows you to be active for a simple desk fee.
