Real Estate Brokerage Firms that are not part of Nexus / REALTOR

Joe L.
Posted

Hello everyone,

I recently passed my NJ licensed exam and I am looking for a brokerage firm to join. How can I find a NJ brokerage firm that does not require me to join NEXUS / REALTOR?

I am basically trying to minimize my yearly operating expenses.

Thank you.

I'm thinking almost all brokers will make you join if you have active license and want to actively assist buyers and sellers.

One option might be if you only want to refer out business to other agents, some brokers might have what they call "referral only" status.   That can save you some money if they offer that, but often they require you not be actively selling, just referring what business you get to others in the office.   Some people do this when they retire.
