Real Estate Current Property valuation

Hello Folks,

I've been trying to figure out how to evaluate current property price before I put an offer. Like many of you know that http://www.redfin.com is good site for CA property but what about the state like Michigan. How do I evaluate the price. I heard that Zillow is not the great site to look at such records such as - zestimate, rental price etc...

Do you guys have any recommendation or know any site? I tried to check appraisal on some of the random sites but not sure how accurate it is!

Thanks for your help!
