Real Estate Team vs Solo Agent
Hello, I am a newer agent in Central Texas. I joined a great team from the beginning. The team leader is definitely a genius when it comes to Real Estate. I am trying to decide to stay or grow my business as a solo agent.
The main issues that I have with teams are that there is no way to grow my own business. I do not get the sign calls from my listing, All of my leads have come from my own lead generation, with the amount of $ in commission that I have paid from being with the team I could have used the $ to market myself and likely get a significant amount of warm or hot leads.
If I were getting volume from the team I dont think I would care about promoting my own business, but at this point I am wondering if it would be more beneficial to me to really just throw myself out there solo and use 50% of my commissions to market / promote my business.
I do like having a TC to focus on lead gen and service my buyers and sellers at the same time but that is the main benefit and I am starting to think that it would be worth the extra time to save the commissions and promote my business.
Does anyone have any insight on this? I like the team a lot but am not sure if it is the most efficient way for me to reach my goals. Thanks!

Hey @Taylor Dasch, I have never been on a team but it sounds like you are ready to be a solo agent. The advantage of being on a team is to get the base knowledge when you are new and to have leads coming in. If you are confident in your knowledge of the contracts/process, you might not need your team lead for that. The other big advantage to a team is they give you leads! If you are not getting any leads from them, I don't see a reason for you to stay on their team. If you think you can make the money you need from your current pipeline, I would say that you should go solo.
One last thing, our market is going to slow down for the next 18 months or so. Are you prepared for that?
