Mentorship for New Real Estate Agent
I am new to Real Estate. Just passed my exam last month. I have been reaching out to agents for advice on selecting an agency to partner with and to agents for advice on selecting an agency to partner with. Today I spoke to an agent who stated he is willing to train me and mentor me in exchange for me helping him with his deals. He said he will compensate me on deals I help him with. I would still have to pay a desk fee at the agency he is with. The agency he is with originally turned me down because I could not commit to 3-7 months of training between the hours of 10-6 because I have a 9-5 job. Since I am a newbie I wanted to get some feedback since I have no frame of reference for this type of situation.
We live in the same state.

If mentorship is more important than compensation, is this agent someone you admire? Do they have a good reputation? Are they successful? Mentorship is priceless, and finding a good one, in the beginning, can really set you up for success.
