Big vs Small Brokerage

Hi All,

I am curious of hearing some of the experiences of those of you working at small brokerages vs larger brokerages. Would love to hear any advantages/disadvantages of each. I am on my way to becoming a real estate agent and could use some guidance when I begin to look for open positions. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you,

Nate

I don't see the value in a small brokerage at all unless your only plan is to work hyper-locally. And even if so, for a new agent, small brokerages do not have the training, resources, and availability of teams and groups to really help you scale up. There are good ones, but they tend to be very localized. There are different kids of big-box brokerages and as a new agent I would steer clear of old school and focus more on brands like eXp or Compass or Real, brokerages that give you opportunities to join teams and have updated marketing and more cloud availability than in-person requirements for new agents.
