New Young Investor Looking for Tips!!

Morgan Warfield
Posted

Hi! I am Morgan, I'm 19 and I'm just getting into real estate investing. I want to start early so I can build up my investing more and more over time. I'm currently taking Robert Kiyosaki's real estate course online so that's where I am getting most of my knowledge. I wanted to ask if anyone has any tips; whether it be books I should read, types of investing I should focus on, people I should contact, etc. Literally any information or advice you have would be so helpful and appreciated. I'm really excited about pursuing this so that I hopefully won't have to rely on a 9-5 job for the rest of my life. Thank you in advance for any and all responses :).

Learn how to spot liars, buy good tools, keep yourself in good shape, demolition is cheap and dangerous, finish carpentry is expensive and less dangerous. Learn the basic excuses/BS lines that lazy contractors use. Watch out for trendy backsplash styles and things that won't stay timeless. Read every single word of every contract and understand it. Have an excellent lawyer and a better handyman. DON'T BE STINGY. Generosity is underrated. Respect people--especially tenants!
