Under 1k sqft STR in running springs

Hello my name is Steven Leandro and I have been wanting to invest in a long term rental for awhile now, but I am only pre approved for 200k. I'm located in southern California in the Corona area and I'm noticing that there are a few homes in the running springs and arrowbear under 1k sqft in my price range, so I'm wondering if anyone here has had any success with small short term rentals? Is running springs/arrowbear a good market for STR?

Opinions on long term rentals in mountain communities?

Thank you,
