Is it a good time to buy a house to rent out in San Francisco?

Hey guys,

First time buyer. I’m looking at buying in East SF with 5-10% down. I plan to get something under 1.5mil with 1-2 bedrooms. Goal is to lease 1 bedroom so my monthly payment becomes my rent.

My questions are:

- Is it a good time to buy given the current market conditions? Is it likely there’s a better time after a few months?

- Condo, good or bad? What’s the drawbacks and advantages of a condo?

- What are some must-check things when purchasing a city house?

Thanks a lot. Appreciate all responses.

Regards,

Ankur
