Business Card Advice

Vincent Donato
Posted

I'm closing on my first property, 2 family duplex, that I will be managing myself. I'm looking to make business cards but have a few questions.

1. What title do you put on your cards? I want to be able to hand my card to potential tenants but also to anybody I meet where I can market myself as a real estate investor. I believe your title is important for somebody to remember who you are. Real Estate Investor? Landlord? Property Manager? Multiple Titles? What do some of you all use on your cards?

2. Do you put your personal phone number on your cards? I'm considering paying for some sort of like Google Voice service to separate business from personal. This way I don't have to give my tenants my personal phone number and don't have to answer all those SPAM calls I get to my personal number because they might actually be business related.

Thanks!

Hey Vincent,

I would definitely recommend grabbing a Google voice number asap. You can use this for both your tenant side and investment side. I currently do this now. For those who I want to have my personal number, I either write it down on the card for them or text it to them after first contact. Also, I believe Google voice is free for one line.

As for title, you can either put nothing or simply put property investor/real estate investor, keep it simple. I actually have an LLC on my cards as my "brand", but do not have a title listed. You do not need an LLC. Maybe start with a simple card which has your name, title as real estate investor and contact info. Make sure not to buy 500 of them as you may decide to change it. Don't think too hard on this one. Just do it and change the cards later if need be.

Good luck on your journey and congrats on your first property!
