Northern California VA loan

Hey everyone, a little insight I got out of the military in 2019 and am currently looking to use my va loan for cash flow using STR. The First year I will house hack as it has to be my primary residence and then I was thinking of moving out and making it a full on rental. Don't have a clue on where to begin only have my COE as of now.
