Multifamily House Hacking investment

Hello I am a 20 year old college student in Long Island area with some capital and good credit. Looking for a multi-family home to house hack. I would like to do an FHA loan once I find a property and live there but I am worried I will be denied without steady work history. I am a college athlete and it is hard to work with a busy schedule. Basically just wondering if anyone had any tips for me in terms of what loan I should try and get.
