Help! Looking at getting into Air BnB

Jonah Mullins
Posted

Hello all! I hope you all are having a great night. I am looking to getting into becoming an Air BnB spot, and possibly house hacking a duplex. Currently I have no portfolio, so this is where I would get started. I am in college, but I am looking to move in May after I finish the year. I am trying to decide whether I could by a duplex now where I am planning on living, and make both Air BnB's until I move -- and then I could house hack. Is that a smart idea? or should I wait until I move there, and then purchase? Thanks!

@Jonah Mullins

If you wait until you move, you can buy with owner occupied financing. If you’re just getting out of college, that’s a good way to get in with a far lower down payment.
