Realtor VS. Home inspector - Real estate journey

Hey Bigger Pockets people,

In an attempt not to send you into a boredom coma I will quickly give you a bullet point of me and my situation.

* Full time firefighter

* prior knowledge of construction and civil engineering

* possible career change

* beginning stages of entering the real estate world

With that being said, my wife and I have been interested in getting into the real estate world in some form or fashion.  We would eventually like to own rental property, flip homes and possibly own Short term rentals. Not all at once of course.

My question is would being a realtor or home inspector be more beneficial? I feel that the knowledge you would gain from being a home inspector would be beneficial when looking at property to invest in. Likewise, being a realtor would allow you to find property, network and understand the purchasing process better.

Let’s hear it BP community….give me your thoughts.

Look forward to your responses.
