Question - Investing while working commission only?

Aaron Miller
Posted

Hello,

I am a new prospective investor in what feels like a unique situation. I am a top producing loan officer for a bank which specializes in FHA refinances. I have been with the bank for approximately 1 year, and while I am now cash flush due to the refi boom we are experiencing, I do not have enough time in my commission only role to obtain a traditional loan. I am aware of the other options: partnerships, hard money loans, etc. however, I am green to investing and would love some advice from someone who is currently or has been in this position. My long term goals are to utilize the BRRRR method to build my portfolio out of state (Arizona is currently a bit too hot, pun intended), and eventually move into larger deals.

Current situation: I am using my time to build up as much liquid capital as I possibly can while simultaneously maximize my real-estate knowledge.

Question: What are your thoughts/advice on investing while working a full commission job?

Thank you for taking the time to read my post. Any and all information is greatly appreciated.

-Aaron
