Foreign Investor Investing in Property in Ontario, Canada

Good day everyone, I am new to real estate investing out in GTA, Ontario, Ca. I am currently looking to invest in real estate in GTA with a friend who is a foreigner. I am planning to take out mortgage while down payment will be split between my friend and I equally. I have researched several options, co-ownership & partnerships (considering I am still new into investing and do not want incorporate so soon). 

Any advice on this? how to structure the investment and any tax implications that I need to watch out?
