Gap Funding for House Hack

Ty Miller
Posted

Hey Biggerpockets family!

I am looking to purchase a triplex (I currently live in one unit), and I would like to use the FHA loan. The property is worth about $500k and I am looking to find a creative way to come up with money for the down payment and closing cost. I'm in a bit of a crunch because my landlord is entertaining conversations/offers for a buy out of all of his 35 units (including the triplex). However, he is willing to withhold the triplex if I can come up with the funding soon.

I heard about gap funding and wanted to see if that would be a good route to cover the down payment and closing cost?

Thanks!

Ty
