Should I change my W-2 to something related to Real Estate?

Hi All,

I am a new investor looking to acquire my first deal in the next year or so. I currently have a W-2 job in Accounts Receivable and have been exploring other career opportunities related to real estate, particularly Property Management. My main "why" for jumping into real estate investing is like many others, to eventually leave my W-2 and invest full time. I am strongly considering applying for a job in property management to be exposed to this side of the business and learn as much as I can for when I begin to acquire rentals. My thought is, while I still need a job for income, benefits, etc. I might as well be doing something that benefits my overall goal of being a full time investor.

I am starting a list of Pros and Cons and would love everyone's input. Do you think this is a good idea? Bad idea? Let me know in the comments!

Kenny.
