Hello,  First-time investor question for you:

I'm going on a road trip in search of a duplex.  I have excellent credit and proof of steady income.  Should I contact a local bank or a Mortgage Broker in the state/s of interest?  Can I do this on the road or should I submit the application and relevant documents before the trip commences.
