Investor-Friendly Real Estate Agent

Posted

Hello BP Community!

I am a newly licensed Real Estate Agent in Illinois (near St. Louis) and I want to be an investor-friendly agent.  As investors, what are the main things you look for in choosing an agent?

I working on building my knowledge base and speaking the language of investors.  I read David Greene's SOLD book and want to apply his principles.

Any other tips or advice?

I agree with all of the above. I have found that as an Agent with years of experience as an Investor myself, that is my biggest asset. You need to be familiar with all of the metrics, be ready to help explain things, bring them properties you find that are in the ballpark of what they are looking for, etc. But in the end it's your client's decision on what they want to pursue. This is all a big numbers game, do not let emotions get in the way of anything. You are NOT solely responsible for their success. You are their teammate, but they are the decision maker. I've had to let clients go because they wanted me to make all of the decisions for them. This is a great niche of Real Estate as an Agent, just keep plugging away at it and good luck!
