Starting out - part time vs. full time

Hello - I have been on the sidelines for a long time now reading & studying while I get my real estate license {Northern California - Sonoma County}. I would like to concentrate on working with investors & rehabs, but I am also open to working with retail customers too. However, my funds are limited and I do feel that I will need to work at least another part-time job until my RE income is consistent enough. My question is - most of the brokerages I have interviewed with will only take you on as a full time person and don't look too kindly on doing it part-time.

I would love to hear what your thoughts are on starting part-time {and trust me, I am motivated and dedicated!} as an agent and building my business that way - rather than jumping in full time and having to quit because I can't afford to continue {which I don't want to do}.

Thanking you in advance for all of your help + advice.
