Beginner - when to put down the book(s) and start investing...

Hello all - I am on maternity leave and have been diving in head first into learning more about real estate investing. Listened to a bunch of BP podcasts, watched a bunch of youtubes, read Rich Dad Poor Dad and Brandon's book, How to Invest in Real Estate. Have played around a little with some of the tools on here as well. I have an AMAZING realtor who helped me find the house in which I live and she knows I want to get into REI. Every time I look at forums or join FB groups, I feel like there's still so much I don't know. I know there comes a point where you have to "poop or get off the pot" (using the PG version here) and there's a lot of learning with experience, but how do I know when I'm there? I make a great income but I am an absolute slave to my job. I want to be able to spend time with my girls and take vacation without running home to a work schedule and having to re-accrue vacation time (which I am being forced to take now because there is no paid parental leave in the US). Thanks for any advice!
