RE-New and dont know how to start!

Hey guys! I’m brand néw to BiggerPockets and wish I knew about it sooooo much sooner this is awesome. So, I’ve overcome a lot in my life and had a lot of major set backs which I’m sure many can relate. Needless to say I’m starting out late being 34 with limited funds and no experience. This has kind of crippled me into taking my first step bc it’s so intimidating and I’m doing it alone and I can’t seem to feel confident enough to jump knowing every penny is on the line. I do not know which route to take or which is the best for a first time.

So what I’m asking is this: what’s the most moderately risky real estate investment to make for your first time to get the ball rolling so you reap a return enough to have some stay in the bank and enough to put towards the next thing? What were the steps you took from beginning g to end to close the deal? I’m not afraid of using creative means whatever works!

If anyone is willing to give me some help or mentor me in any way I would be forever grateful!!!
