I am a recent College Graduate in Charlotte, NC and I’ve always envisioned a life of financial freedom. I am starting my career in HR and will have a few extra dollars to invest after bills are taken care of and I would love any  advice that is offered for Rental Property Investing.

Hey @Harvey Mac, welcome to BiggerPockets!

I maintain there are two KEY skills you need to begin developing to be successful as a real estate investor:

  1. Analyzing investment opportunities and recognizing what makes a deal good or not
  2. Talking to sellers to uncover their true needs and thereby solve their problems

Note that both of these skills demand ongoing practical application. By all means, read the books and attend the webinars, but at the end of the day you've got to put all that learning to work with actual potential deals and real live sellers.

I guarantee you: The sooner you get busy on these two, the better an investor you'll become!
