Buying a home is one of the biggest investments people make in their lifetime. This is why it's important to be well prepared for it.

The hidden costs of buying a home include property taxes, closing costs, utilities, repairs, and maintenance. To avoid these catching you off-guard, make sure to research what the recent bills for the property you're buying have been. Also, make sure to do an inspection or are aware of what repairs the house will need after closing.

What hidden costs did you come across when buying your first property?
