Property Management Threatening to Sue

Becca Drake
Posted

Hi all, this is my first post because I'm literally trying to buy my first property. It's currently a STR and the seller didn't tell their property management that they were selling the property so now they are threatening to sue us (the new buyer) if we don't hold their bookings for at least 60 days. I didn't sign anything with them or in our contract for the house and we are 9 days out from closing. This was supposed to be a vacation home for my family and friends until we were ready to pay it off and use it as a short term rental ourselves. I'm so scared and thrown off by all of this. Originally we offered to let them hold their bookings through the end of the month but our lender stated that wouldn't be allowed. I really don't want to lose this house or the money we have already put into it.

Do they really have the ability to come after us legally? Does anybody have any creative suggestions to appease all parties?

I thought the problems came after you got the property not before. 😭😭😭

Thanks in advance!
