Looking for input

I've been thinking about RE Investing for too many years now and I really want to get started. However, I have to admit that I have some personal debt that is prohibiting me from really jumping in with both feet. My question to the BP community is this.

Which do I do first? Pay off the debt (about 30 months worth) then get into RE investing or dive into RE investing first?

Many thanks for your input!
