Hoboken/Jersey City, NJ Opportunities, Advice, Agent

Nick Hammell
Posted

Hello,

I'm looking to purchase a property in the Hoboken/Jersey City area to house hack. I'd appreciate any kind of advice or insights on investing in this area, forming an LLC/Corp. and just getting started in general!

Ideal budget is <$600K

Thanks in advance!

Consult some professionals...

Here is some reading about LLC's and transfering Title back and forth (don't..). The LLC topic comes up pretty much daily on BP. The LLC is there for asset protection / limited liablity, not for tax purposes (unless you are investing with a non-spousal partner). However, it comes with other restrictions such as needing to use commercial lending and having to operate it as an independent entity, as it is a legal entity, to maintain and protect the LLC's corporate veil.

As for the real estate market, I'm further west into NJ so can't help you much there.
