Looking to Buy House in Charleston, SC w/in the Next Year

Hi! I'm in the military and I am going to be stationed in Charleston, SC starting this coming June/July. I was looking to purchase a single family home, ideally before I get there but not required. I am new to real estate and I have been studying/learning what I can since August.

I haven't been to Charleston and don't know much about the area so I'm looking to connect with someone there or get some resources I can check out to get started on the process of buying a house there.

There are also a few good REI meetups here in Charleston that helped me meet new people when I moved here a few years ago. One is a breakfast meeting downtown that meets 2 days a month and is very casual and has great people. I can also send you details on that if you are interested.
