Advice for Aspiring RE Investor in the Long Island area

Hello all - I am 24 and saving for my first real estate investment property in the LI area.

Does anyone have any advice or experience investing in the LI area (E.g., Location, SFH v. MFH)? Any and all advice is appreciated.

I was planning on saving up $50 throughout 2021 to purchase my first LI property in the $350-400K area. Does this sound feasible?

Thank you all for your advice!
