Advise for 1st timer house hacker in Austin
Hello,
My wife and I are looking to buy a duplex in Austin this summer with a FHA loan. We got our down payment ready, or credit is looking good, our DTI is solid and we're excited. We still haven't found a lender or agent yet. We plan on living in one unit and renting out the other. We've just been looking on Realator.com and are looking for a duplex in the 500ks .
Is there anyone that is familiar or experienced in Austin that can give us any kind of advice?
We would appreciate it. Thanks. ✌🏼

I think house hacking is a great idea, but just be prepared to have a long road in finding a property. It'll be hard to find something with an FHA loan as sellers are all getting many offers on their properties and FHA will be less secure of an offer in the seller's eyes compared to another offer with more down, non-FHA regulations, etc.
