Looking for ideas of where to invest around NYC

Hi all,

I'm ready to start! I feel that I have the knowledge and the fund to start investing. Any recommendation of locations 1-2 hours drive from NYC? Looking for single/multi-family. 

At least for the 1st-2nd investments, I want access to the property.

I thoughts about PA, but it seems like the taxes are very high.

Any recommendation would be appreciated. Thank you all!
