Tips for just starting out

I recently completed undergrad at Ohio State with a degree in real estate and urban analysis as a pre-med student. I've recently decided medical school is no longer something I am interested in pursuing and instead want to focus on real estate and hopefully eventually get into development. I had planned to spend the year working in a cancer research lab while I applied to schools but now find myself starting from scratch at something I have really only studied in theory. I've already completed the classes necessary to sit for the real estate licensing exam, is that something I should do to get started? Long term I don't really have any interest in being a residential real estate agent but I wonder if that might expose me to investing opportunities and some networking? I'm also starting off without any money so maybe getting a job first would help me save up while I look for investment opportunities. Any advice anyone has on where I should get started in terms of investing and ultimately developing would be great. Thanks!
