Newbie! What are some small steps you've done to get into REI?

Hello! My name is Ashley and my wife is Jess. We are just getting started in REI and we live out here in Oregon. We're planning to start Flipping with our first house when we get to Gilbert,AZ. We would love to know where people first started dipping their toes into REI. Whether it be flipping, wholesaling, investing, etc.
