Torn between partnering or not with a friend
I have a friend that's into businesses but not yet present in the real estate niche I'm in. Should we partner? We live in a small market.
My friend has more capital than me, so a 50-50 partnership with her as the capital partner would be a likely scenario. I am apprehensive though as she might see this as an 'easy' business (because real estate looks pretty basic from the outside looking in) and run me out of our small market - or at least leave me with fewer details vs. status quo.
Okay, she's more of an acquaintance then because a friend wouldn't do that. :) What are your thoughts? On the one hand, I've heard people say there will always be deals so do not be afraid to share. On the other hand, I scout for deals all the time and they seem infrequent in our small market. I also feel I'd have enough capital to go solo in a year's time, if that information helps.
Thank you, BiggerPockets!
