Setting up utilities
Quick question. I just want reassurance.
I am closing on a my first property tomorrow (house hack), and I wanted to make sure the process on having the utilities under my name is done correctly. The property is a duplex that is currently vacant. With that being said, will I have the utilities on the side that I will be renting under my name until I find a tenant, then have the tenant add themselves to the utilities and remove me? Isn’t there contracts put in place with electrical companies?
I am starting to get butterflies so I am overthinking everything now.
Thank you,
Juan A.
