Investing in College
While I have been reading as much as I can in all this free time I have, I'm still very new to the idea of real estate investing. I'm currently 17 years old and I was thinking about the idea of starting to invest in real estate while I'm in college. The plan is to house hack after my freshman year and possibly sell the property once I finish college if I decide to move elsewhere. I have saved all my money from work and have put almost all of it (6k) in the stock market in July. I have an unrealized gain of about 2.5k in the market and I'm hoping to make some more money before I go to college. Would house hacking in college be a good idea? I'm most likely going to go to CU Boulder where the prices are not necessarily cheap, but I'm willing to put in the work of school and real estate. I'm also weary of taking out all my cash from the stock market for real estate because I want to hold that money for a long time, but if real estate provides me a much bigger advantage, I will most certainly transfer what I need to.
Any tips/suggestions/concerns would be very helpful!
