Investing in NWI Questions

Carlos Barbery
Posted

Hi BP,

Investing newbie here! I've been an avid fan of BP for some time and never found myself in a position where buying a property was an option until now. I've been living in Chicago for a year and but I am more interested in buying rental properties in NWI while still living/renting in Chicago. From what I've been reading, Indiana has lots to offer to investors. I would be looking to get started with one property to get my feet wet and go from there.

I wanted to see if there was anybody in the Chicago or NWI area that could help me deal with some of my concerns.

1.   In doing research, I've read that it's tough to get a PM for a single property. What would you recommend for somebody who was just getting started in out of state rentals? Are there PM companies in NWI who are known to accept single properties to manage?

2.  I plan on getting a conventional loan. Does it make a difference to work with a bank here in Chicago vs. one in Indiana?

I would love to connect with anybody who was once a newbie in the same situation I am in or anybody with experience in NWI.

Thank you so much.

Carlos

@Carlos Barbery - I would connect with @Eudith Vacio I know she has done some investing in NWI and she is also a rock star agent.  I know enjoys working with out of state investors.
