Hey newbies! Are you dragging your feet???

Hey new potential investors , are you dragging your feet on investing in real estate?  I sure did and if I hadn’t who knows where I could have been.

At 21 years old I wanted to become a real estate investor. No kids, no bills, a ton of energy and plenty of time.  So, in 1991 my wife and I looked at a 4-plex that had two of four units occupied and needed some rehab.  It was offered to me for $500 down and a monthly payment for 20 years for $250 a month.  Since all I had was the $500 in the bank I didn’t think it was the right time to do it so I moved on hoping that I would find the perfect deal.

flash forward to 2018.  2 kids in collage, one in high school and the same wife.  I was a successful retail store manager and always a top performer but something was missing.

I read Wild at Heart by John Eldredge and in it was this quote:
”Deep in his heart, every man longs for a battle to fight, an adventure to live, and a beauty to rescue.”  It resonated with me.  I was missing the battle, the game, the adventure of life.

So with financial responsibilities, three kids, a full time job, and the energy of a slug in the hot sun, I became a real estate investor.

Over the last two years my wife and I have acquired 5 single family homes and one duplex with our sights set on acquiring a multi unit of 10+ in 2022.

Bottom line potential investors, i am a recovering foot dragger.  Don’t take my path!  Get in the game right away and make it happen!
