Newbie from Staten Island, NY

Hello, my name is Yasmine, I am 27 years old and currently in a Master's program to become a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I've wanted to invest in real-estate for a couple years now and I managed to save up about 20k to invest in my first property. My plan is to buy an apartment in Miami Florida for 250,000 max and rent it out. I don't know much about investing or real-estate, I just know that I want to reach a level of financial independence as soon as possible ( several years). Any suggestions or ideas on how to achieve this?? Anything would help!
