Dwelling Coverage on Insurance Quote

Anna Harris
Posted

I am under contract on my second rental property (YAY!) and just got a quote for home insurance. The quote I got lists my "dwelling coverage" as 4x the value of the home. This seems way too high to me (the coverage on the other property I own is approximately equal to the home's value). I am new to investing so was wondering if anyone had thoughts on this or have a good insurance company you could recommend. The property is in Winston-Salem, NC.
