What should I look for before purchasing my first multi-family?

I've bought and sold SFR and condo's, done well at property management and would like to try my hand at multi-family. What are the 'musts' when entering this market? I don't have a trusted lender yet and need to know more about running the numbers and understanding commercial loans. All help is appreciated!
