Should a beginner start their own meet up?

Hello BP community, I’m a young and eager newbie looking to network in Elko, NV. Unfortunately the closest meet up I can find has not been active in over a year now and is a couple hour drive to another state. I’m still about a year away from pulling the trigger on my first house hack and have what I would call beginners knowledge. I’ve listened to 200+ podcasts, read around 10 books, and have experience in a siding & windows company my father owns in yet another state. I understand most of the terms used and I try to analyze deals but don’t 100% trust my numbers because of unknown rehab costs and ARVs.

What do you think? Should I start a local meet up, even if it is only me sitting at bar or restaurant by myself with limited knowledge? Should I connect with and drive out of state to the closest one I can find? Or is there some other steps I should be taking first?

BTW Elko County has a population of only around 50k but as I drive for dollars I have noticed rehabs and flips going on. Next time should I talk to the contractors about the owners? I don’t know what to say/do, any help is greatly appreciated and I thank you all for your time.
