Introduction into Real Estate

I want to be a real estate investor, I have no clue where to start. I am looking to find investors to talk to and learn from. I can read the books and attend seminars for years, but I feel like if I can learn hands on I will never have the courage to take the first step. Any books to read would also be a big help.

Mentors are a good resource, but like everyone will tell you, you need to bring value to the relationship. To help get you focused, I would recommend reading "How to Invest in Real Estate: The Ultimate Beginners Guide to Getting Started" By Brandon Turner.
